This is a list of the bird species recorded in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Saint Kitts and Nevis is a small West Indian country, a federation of two neighbouring islands in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles. The avifauna of these two islands include a total of 140 species, of which 93 are rare or accidental. Two species on the list have been extirpated in Saint Kitts and Nevis and are not included in the species count. This list's taxonomic treatment (designation and sequence of orders, families and species) and nomenclature (common and scientific names) follow the conventions of ''The Clements Checklist of Birds of the World'', 6th edition. The family accounts at the beginning of each heading reflect this taxonomy, as do the species counts found in each family account. Accidental species are included in the total species count for Saint Kitts and Nevis. The following tags have been used to highlight several categories. The commonly occurring native species do not fall into any of these categories. * (A) Accidental - a species that rarely or accidentally occurs in Saint Kitts and Nevis * (Ex) Extirpated - a species that no longer occurs in Saint Kitts and Nevis although populations exist elsewhere __NOTOC__ ==Shearwaters and petrels== Order: ProcellariiformesFamily: Procellariidae The procellariids are the main group of medium-sized "true petrels", characterised by united nostrils with medium septum and a long outer functional primary. *Audubon's shearwater, ''Puffinus lherminieri'' (A) 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「List of birds of Saint Kitts and Nevis」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
